Deploy SharePoint Server 2007 Service Pack 1

Service Pack 1 (SP1) delivers important customer-requested stability and performance improvements, while incorporating further enhancements to user security. The SharePoint Products and Technologies SP1 resource center has a roadmap to help you deploy SP1.
Deployment Roadmap
Step 1
Before installing the service pack, be sure to read the document Planning and deploying SP1 for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server.
Step 2
Do the following, in this order:
Download and install Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 SP1.
Download and install Office SharePoint Server 2007 SP1.
Run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration wizard.
Step 3
Read the documentation that addresses top customer areas:
Design and build sites
Sample project plan: Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 deployment
Migration and Upgrade Information for SharePoint Server 2007
Performance recommendations for storage planning and monitoring
Plan alternate access mappings
Plan for backup and restore
New Stsadm commands:
Mergcontentdbs
Renamesite
Tzmove
Peoplepicker-searchadcustomfilter

Step 4 (optional)
Install language packs.
Download and install Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Language Pack SP1: 32-bit / 64-bit
Download and install SharePoint Server Language Packs 2007 SP1: 32-bit / 64-bit
